Extensions up to 12 months are available if needed. If you need more than 16 months to complete the program, you can request two 6-month extensions.

The NANCP™ program is 100% online, with all course materials delivered in a dynamic digital format. Each unit contains a blend of lesson videos (complete with subtitles, transcripts, and audio files for varied learning preferences), readings (primarily drawing from peer-reviewed journal articles), practical case studies, and reflective journaling exercises. The application-focused units also provide you with a variety of supplemental PDF resources, patient/client handouts, tools for your practice, and suggestions for expanded learning. There is a final integration project that gives you the opportunity to apply your neuronutrition knowledge and skills in the context of a comprehensive case study.

Yes, each unit in the NANCP™ program concludes with a required, non-proctored, open-book competency assessment. These assessments are designed to evaluate your understanding of the essential program material, and you'll need to achieve a satisfactory score of 80% on each one. The great news is that you can take these competency assessments at any time, so you can go at your own pace.

While the NANCP™ program doesn't include extensive research projects on the level of a university curriculum, there are absolutely opportunities for you to engage in a variety of case study projects and reflective writing exercises. These will be marked as either "competency demonstrated" or "approaching competency," and you'll receive constructive feedback and guidance.

Yes, the initial NANCP™ certification is valid for four years from the date of issuance. Given the rapid evolution of neuronutrition and nutritional neuroscience, it's crucial that program graduates continually enhance and refine their knowledge and skills.

The renewal process is streamlined and straightforward. To renew, graduates must provide evidence of 40 hours of continuing education and professional development. Renewal applications must be submitted within 30 days of the expiration date. Upon successful renewal, your NANCP™ certification will be valid for an additional four years, and you'll receive an updated digital certificate and digital badge.

Upon completion of the program, you will become a National Academy of Neuronutrition Certified Practitioner (NANCP) and can use the designation “NANCP” after your name along with your other professional titles.

While we cannot guarantee which organizations will approve the NANCP™ program for continuing education credits prior to your completion, we will provide you with the necessary documentation to petition for continuing education credit.
